Barn Hunting is a cool new sport sweeping the nation and it’s not just for terriers. Taken as an offshoot from the original AKC “Earth Dog” Competition, Barn Hunt was started to broaden the sport for all competitors and just small terrier breeds.

This is the first step in Barn Hunt and a great place to start if you and your dog are interested in the sport. This class is designed to introduce dogs to the sport and build the foundation for the Alert.  Students will stay in this class until they are satisfied that their dog can accurately tell them when they have found the rat!  After that, it will be time to move to Barnhunt 201; Search Strategy.

Please be aware that once the class is full, the date longer show on the signup link above.  You may pick a different date, or keep checking back, as sometimes, people adjust their dates and a spot will open up the week prior to class.

Please bring your dog, a long line (if you have it-no worries if you don’t)…and their favorite treats (some dogs don’t need them, but many do).
